The Fourth LEARN Workshop on Research Data was hosted by ECLAC in Santiago, Chile on 27 October 2016.

This event, titled “Implementation of policies and strategies in Latin America and the Caribbean”, was aimed at providing participants with an opportunity to learn about Latin American experiences in Research Data Management, including policy development and implementation.

A vast range of international speakers presented at the Workshop. It was an excellent opportunity to get an up-to-date perspective of challenges and strategies, to exchange experiences and to strenghten networks that will increase collaboration and promote the development of Research Data Management in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Workshop included keynote speeches by Dr. Paul Ayris (University College London), Dr. Martin Hilbert (University of California) and Dr. Claudio Gutiérrez (Universidad de Chile / CIWS), and two discussion panels, in which experts from Latin American countries will address the current state, challenges and strategies for the  development of RDM across the region.

A report of the event, as well as the programme and speakers’ profiles are available.
